Benjamin Bloom : The Complete Works

This is one of those albums that I came across while looking for something else. I thought I’d give it a try even though it’s well out of the remit of what I’d normally listen to as I’m open minded enough to give things a chance, even if they are a little different.

Just what genre this album sits in, is really difficult to explain. The album is a collection of songs that are easy on the ears. It’s a great chill out album, soothing and relaxing with no drama, and nothing anywhere near offensive.

There’s some elctronica and some piano led tracks. All of these are overlaid with some genuinely stunning vocals. There’s nothing intrusive about them, but they’ll get into your head all the same. They’re almost ghostly and if you listen hard enough they can certainly send chills through you.

I have been pleasantly surprised by this collection of songs, and while it’s a million miles away from the stuff I usually listen to, I found it strangely alluring. This album is perfect for those days that you just want to sit down and relax, or for putting on while you’re taking a bath. It’s very well written, and very well played, and if you give it a try, it may just surprise you too.

Go on, give it a listen, maybe you’ll like it too.
