2012 Year End Report : Uneven Structure

Another day, anothed catch-up with the bands who have brightened our 2012… this time it’s those fine chaps from Uneven Structure….

What’s been the highlight of 2012?

That Moscow show with Chimp Spanner!

Thinking back to a year ago, have you achieved what you hoped to?

Yeah mostly, I think we essentially wanted to do lots of shows and bring Februus fully on stage in 2012 and we did both!

What are the ambitions for the coming year?

Releasing an EP, getting solid light and sound techs and having a video-backdrop for our shows, trying to step things up calmly.

If you could play one UK festival next year, which one would it be and why?

Download probably!

What has been your favourite album of 2012?

Hard question, lots of great releases between Car Bomb’s new album, Soundgarden and everything else, I’ll go for Circle Takes the Square because their album release yesterday was totally unexpected and I’ve been waiting for this for years.

And what is the best gig you have seen in the past 12 months?

Unsurprisingly Meshuggah/Decapitated/CB Murdoc at the Kulturfabrik (Lux), sober show with a perfect execution.

2013 looks like being another great year for gigs, any you are particularly looking forward to?

Living in a small town far from any major city gives me trouble to plan for any gigs, so I’d say any show we’re part of. It’s always a pleasure to (re)discover other bands we’re lucky to play with!

Looking into your crystal ball, who do you think are going to be the hot bands to watch out for in 2013?

No Consequence, Beyond The Dust, Twelve Foot Ninja and ehh… A.i.(d) I guess.

If you could go on tour with any band or musician, who would you pick?

Any artist from Basick Records because of the massive amounts of giggles it involves.

New Year is fast approaching, so it’s resolution time. What are your resolutions for 2013 going to be, and how long do you think they’ll last?

Grow a (real) beard. This will last till I look like a beavery hobo, which means approximately two weeks.
