FM Live at HRH AOR

“Better than ever” is a tag that’s bandied about far too easily these days when discussing “veteran” bands, especially as it’s often simply not true. Well, there is no doubt that one band for who that is definitely appropriate is FM. Every time I have seen them since they hit the comeback trail in 2007 has been better than the time before, and their set at the HRH AOR Festival was no exception.

The thing is, you see, FM have an almost unsurpassed array of brilliant anthemic sing-along tunes in their back catalogue that many of their peers would kill for. I mean most of the bands of this era have a one or two, but FM have an entire setful, and more than do them justice.

And that’s not to mention the new stuff that certainly stands up favourably alongside the classics, and gets just as big a response from the appreciative crowd who were certainly enjoying it (and the band looked like they’re having a whale of a time to0). Definitely the band of the day, and a strong shout for band of the weekend this was the best I’ve ever seen FM…

And judging by the response from the capacity crowd I wasn’t the only one who loved ’em.
