Cast your eyes over the Hellfest 2014 line-up and the organisers have just about every base, apart from Baby Metal, covered. A truly international bill and every corner of rock and metal represented. Amongst this long list of names, there are plenty of UK representatives in there.
Paradise Lost and Conan are bringing the Doom to Clisson; but if you are wanting to something more upbeat and maybe something to have a dance or pogo to…well Therapy? will be there!
cackblabbath.online have just seen them on their ‘Troublegum’ 20th Anniversary tour and they’re in mighty fine form. They’ll be rocking the main stage on the Friday night just before that other little band from the UK – Iron Maiden, I think they’re called – headline the festival.
cackblabbath.online caught up with Therapy?’s Michael McKeegan just after the band completed work in the studio to see how they were looking forward to the festival:
MM: “We’re all very excited to be hitting Hellfest this year, it’s a legendary festival and over the years we’ve often salivated over the line-ups and pretty much every friend or band we know who’ve been says its killer. For our first visit (and first French festival in quite some years), to be on the main stage with Iron Maiden is a real honour for us, we are absolutely ready to kicking out the jams.
Unfortunately we’re only there for the Friday but that’s packed full of ‘must see’ bands so if I had to prioritise I personally am keen to check out Conan, Electric Wizard, Slayer, Kvelertak, Death Angel, Godflesh, Brutality Will Prevail, Hail Of Bullets, Nocturnus, Toxic Holocaust. Also hopefully see a few bands I’m not that familiar with that will blow me away, that’s one of the best things about festivals I think.
Other than that, am gonna stay hydrated, get out and mingle and enjoy the riff laden fun.”
CB: We’ll see you down the front, well hydrated and ready to party!
Hellfest takes place in Clisson, France between 20th and 22nd June, 2014.
