It’s a bitter-sweet occasion for Mage to be playing Bloodstock Festival this year. We can’t really convey the emotions that must be going through the band but it must have been tough. Playing the festival is just about every rock/metal band’s dream in the UK, but Mage are playing smack bang on the anniversary of their guitarist Ben’s death.
He’s up there with them though. His guitar proudly on display at the front of the stage and no doubt he’s looking down with pride on his band’s achievements.
Musically, Mage are just our cuppa. We caught them at Uprising Festival earlier in the year and their Sabbath and Kyuss riffage ticks our boxes. Frontman Tom is definitely Leicester’s answer to John Garcia in the looks and vocal department.
I think we’ll be heading to Pledge Music for their new one soon. What a fantastic band!
