For the uninitiated, give us a Brief History of the band:
Cinders early stages involved the release of a single, Last Years Winter and an EP, I Could Do Better. The remaining band members came a long and so did the album release in May 2016. Quickly, they reached countries all around the world. Album is coming on 2 million streams on Spotify.
And what’s been the highlight so far ?:
The biggest highlight has to be all of the fun and crazy experiences we had on tour this year and to see the fruits of our labors and to meet many of the fans around the nation!
Big plans for the future ? :
Well besides our plans to win a Grammy award, we are excited for our next album, the demos are coming along nicely, we are so anxious that we will be releasing a single “Tree House” in the next few months!
Describe your music in 1 word :
One word?.. familiar
What is the most common misconception about the band?
People often think it’s THE Cinders. But it’s just Cinders.
Tell us something interesting / amusing / stupid about the band :
Funny thing is we have never won any battle of the bands or any competitions we have competed in. At the time it sucked, but we take pride in that now.
Who would be your ideal tour-mates ?:
We would love to tour with bands like grouplove or head and the heart, or lumineers, we feel like we have either a similar live energy or similar sound/feel.
And what would be on the rider ?:
Our hospitality rider would definitely be warm chick fil a in our dressing or green room. Maybe add a crazy request like putting the pickles on top of the chicken, just so we can be assured that the venue has read our whole rider.
People say rock’n’roll is getting too safe, too tame. What’s the most “rock’n’roll excess” thing you’ve done ?
I will be honest, we are pretty conservative guys. Off the stage we love being kind, obeying the law, helping kitties from those tall trees, etc. On stage, we have left some blood, injuries and broken stages along with a few things here and there, I think that is important.
